By healing, in this context, I mean becoming a healthy minded person who would happily never rape again. Primal desires for revenge put aside... this wouldn't be a negative outcome. But I realize it's wild idealism, a pretty ludicrous dream, to save everyone.

I'm not saying I don't understand the hate, it's a natural feeling toward anything so despicable.

I don't disagree with you, realizing you speak of the death penalty. There's not much else to be done with the older ones, and the penal system will only make them worse before releasing them back into society... Plus, why should everyone else be made to pay for them? A single televised hanging could probably prevent thousands of rapes.

But if anything, for the moment, I think our main issue of focus should be the underreporting of rapes, and how the reported cases are handled. Because you're right, most rapists rape again and again before they get caught. We need to normalize and maybe even streamline the reporting of rape. If the system isn't built to support such a high volume of cases to investigate, then it sounds to me like a lot of job opportunities.

Apparently there's already an extensive rape kit backlog... which is insane, for how few rapes actually get reported. So we're way passed due to expand the field.

And more than I'd like, thank you for asking.
