Three Ding-a-Lings Share a Dream, Pt. III — Act 1
A tale dedicated to Defiant Joy, formerly known on Medium as Charlotte Ella King
Mesmerized, Nadae sighed. The ocean reflected pink fluffy cumulus clouds on a navy blue sky, rippling with the teensiest drops of rain. Whatever had jarred her moments before, she couldn’t recall.
For better or for worse, she was at peace. On this note, she realized Bailor and Japeto had each vanished again completely.
A previously unnoticed patch of saltgrass jutted from the beach shallows to her left.
Profoundly, she inhaled the fragrance of the sea.
The sound of gentle waves crashing on the shore, small birds singing from invisible spaces around her, warm sands smooshing comfortably beneath her feet— all reassured her everything would be just fine.
The ocean shimmered, and she saw fish swimming like boats, the upper half of their bodies above the water, fins spinning like paddles.
She closed her eyes, marveling how this could actually work in dreams. She then wondered again about the others, and where the fantasy might have taken them.
